Leadership Day Prize-a-Palooza!

Many of us have been to a few LIM Leadership Days. When we go, we often look for the differentiating factors. What is this school doing that we have not seen before? What aspect of Leadership Day is different from all of the rest? What creative ideas did these students and teachers integrate into their program?

At Lely Elementary School, we have some incredibly creative students and teachers. Often some of the best ideas that we put into practice come right from the students, or a collaboration between the students and teachers. This collaborative environment is what Leader in Me is all about - giving kids a real say in the school day. We take that very seriously.

One of the many differentiating aspects of the Lely Elementary School Leadership Day is the Prize-a-palooza during the closing assembly. We wanted our event to include community members, parents, district staff, teachers from other schools, and folks from some of the institutions around town. In order to thank everyone for coming, we will have drawings for prizes at the end of the day. 

Over the last couple of months, we have been able to get donations for some pretty nice prizes: Date Night Packages from CMX CineBistro, Family Passes to the Naples Zoo, and Ticket Packages to the Naples Botanical Garden to name a few. We hope that those in attendance will see that all of us, students and teachers alike, have worked hard to make this Leadership Day a big success. We cannot wait to see everyone on April 6 at Leadership Day!

Welcome to Lely Leads, our Leader in Me Leadership Day blog. Here you will find updates on our Leadership Day planning, documents and resources to help others with their leadership day, photos and videos from our big event, and some of the out-of-the-box ideas that we will be incorporating into our Leadership Day.
